For those that are unable to attend our regular Club meetings, a short synopsis of each meeting is published after the event, as a record of the evening's proceedings.
February 2012 Meeting - Duchess of Hamilton (1932 - 1970) : A Steamer Without Equal?
The February meeting was held on Wednesday 8th when Iain MacLeod presented an excellent case for the Duchess of Hamilton really being THE steamer without equal!
January 2012 Meeting - Loch Class:- The Second Quartette
The January Meeting was given by Robert Cleary covering the events leading up to, and the introduction of, the original Loch Class ferries
December 2011 Meeting - Pictorial Quiz Night
In a departure from the usual format of meetings Eric Schofield gave us a pictorial quiz night on which he challenged us to ideentify ships and locations(including the one above)
November 2011 Meeting - Scotland's Ferry Challenges
The November Meeting was held on the 9th the subject being "Scotland's Ferry Challenges and was given by Archie Robertson , CEO of Calmac Ferries Ltd". In it he detailed the numerous challenges (occasionally conflicting) which will have to be addressed in order to keep the company as an efficient provider of ferry services in the forthcoming years              
February 2011 Meeting - The Road to Finlaggan
For our meeting in February 2011, the Club was addressed by Ian McCrorie, a Past President of the Club and well known authority on the history of CalMac and its predecessors. Ian's talk was entitled 'The Road to Finlaggan' and took us through the history of shipping services to Islay from the early days of steam navigation right up to the present time.
October 2011 Meeting - President's Address "As Time Goes Bye"
The winter session of meetings commenced with the traditional President's Address given by Gordon Law and titled "As Time Goes By" in which he covered the years 1973 - 1986 a time of changing fortunes
April 2011 Meeting - Club Annual General Meeting
A Special General Meeting was held to consider the proposed revised Constitution presented to members by the Committee.  This was followed by the Clubs's Annual General Meeting and the evening was closed with "A brief pictorial record of Jeanie Deans" presented by Iain Quinn.
January 2011 Meeting - Members' Night
A varied and interesting selection of topics and photographs were presented by eight members of the Club under the theme "Clyde Favourites- Past and Present".  Presentations were made using both traditional 35mm slides and digital media.
December 2010 Meeting - Steamers to Stornoway
Colin Tucker provided an insight to the development of the route to Stornoway, tracing the route and its history through a series of contemporary photographs and detailed research.
March 2011 Meeting - Oban Entrepeneur Alexander Paterson, and his Princess Louise
After a period of many years absence, due to living in America, Fraser MacHaffie returned to the Club to provided members with a wonderful story of the achievements of one man against many odds.
